Dwell in the Swell

Wrightsville Beach, NC

The clients wanted to create a get-away at Wrightsville Beach utilizing art pieces and accents reminiscent of their favorite vacation spots. The design concept was to remove all of the builder-grade materials and incorporate clean lines, bold color accents, and textural elements to bring in organic quality. The clients loved the vibe of Dwell Magazine homes, but we wanted to respond to their unique lifestyle.

In the living room, the white lacquered panel shows off special glass tiles from their favorite vacation spots, while also concealing the TV when not in use. We took a small, typically segmented master suite and created an open setting, highlighting the bed with a custom wood ceiling and a chandelier above. A see-through fireplace and glass tile column is the only element separating the bedroom from the bathroom. From the bed you can see the serene bath with a custom concrete trough sink and unique glass tile around the tub and shower. From the client: "Jennifer and her team designed a beach condo that not only feels like home, but has so much style and personality. We loved working with them so much, we have chosen them for a re-design of our primary residence in Raleigh.”
