Modern, low country, organic

Dungannon Village

Autumn Hall, Wilmington, NC

The original style direction and inspiration was modern low country. Since the building is located in Autumn Hall, we wanted to create a residential feel within this commercial space. The design concept was to reflect the Autumn Hall lifestyle, which we did with our use of materials and change in texture. We used painted shiplap around the elevator tower and contrasted it with the heavily textured grasscloth wallcovering on the opposite wall. A major focal point was the custom designed stair wall, where we used applied molding painted in a semi-gloss white to reflect natural light and emphasize the open, two-story lobby.

Solid mahogany wood floors in the lobby and up the stairs were chosen to match the doors and windows throughout the building. Residential style carpets were selected for a stair runner and corridors to visually soften the space, as well as to help with acoustics. Decorative lighting played a big role in the project. Another key focal point was the grand chandelier, suspended in the lobby, selected for its driftwood finish and wrought iron accents. Carefully curated artwork package inspired by the coastal finishes and palette ties each space together. Minimal furnishings selected are an inviting welcome as you enter into the space.
