These clients wanted an updated, family getaway home—a comfortable place to relax and enjoy the coastal waters around them. With a touch of whimsy and nods to the ocean with varying design features, we created an inviting and vibrant getaway for the family to enjoy. Bringing the surrounding landscape into the home was important to the clients, so we created design features that mirror the ocean with a custom underwater mural in the master bath and an ocean hue ombre in one of the bedrooms. To further accentuate the coastal design in the bedroom, we added a hanging chair to give the sense of floating in the ocean.
Whimsical wallpapers were used throughout the home to give it a unique personality. Cole & Son Acquario wallpaper in the powder room gives the sense that you’re snorkeling in the tropics, while the Duralee Indira wallpaper in one of the bedrooms gives the room vibrant color and energy. To add more character, we added in a custom dry bar in the dining room for serving and entertaining. Mirrored panels on the cabinetry reflect light coming in through the windows, inviting the light and brightening the space. To complement the vibrant colors and unique features, we used warm, organic tones in furnishings and light fixtures—grounding the energy and creating a calmer atmosphere for our clients and their family.
