Inviting, luxurious, comfortable

Dash of Class

Wilmington, NC

It all started with a fabric. The client fell in love with the texture and richness of the embroidered fabric that now resides on the backs of the custom upholstered host dining chairs. This fabric set the stage for the design of the entire home. We used lighter fabrics, reflective metals and glass tile to enhance the natural light in the home. The dining room is visible directly from the entry, so it had to make a statement. We used grounding neutrals in the furniture finishes as well as subtle reflective materials in the grasscloth wallcovering, custom draperies, and capiz shell chandelier. These selections softened the palette and allowed the vibrant purple to steal the show.

Coming from New Jersey, they have embraced the southern hospitable lifestyle. The clients love to entertain and host parties and fundraiser events in their home. We turned the entry closet into a wine bar. We transformed the upstairs study into a gentleman’s bar with a custom designed wine cellar, masculine finishes like faux wood plank on the ceiling, leather barstools, and a recycled wine bottle chandelier. The back porch was enclosed and turned into a cozy, sunroom perfect for sharing glasses of wine with guests. We wanted a lavish feel for the master suite. We chose delicate metallic fabrics, luscious textures, and a contrasting color palette – black and white tiles, gold and grey fabrics.
