The client wished to incorporate some existing furnishings from his NYC apartment into a new coastal condo. The design concept was to create a masculine, mid-century modern spin on a beachfront condo; balancing light and dark elements in an open floor plan.
We refinished existing hardwoods, added new paint colors in every room, refreshed the kitchen backsplash and cabinet glass, and added new window treatments in all spaces. We changed the kitchen cabinet finish and incorporated glass as well. This helped give more interest to a small kitchen and also to make it feel more open. With the balcony doors open, you can hear the waves crashing outside and smell the salty air. It’s the perfect combination of city meets beach.
