Rooted in the warmth of a family practice, this project was all about creating a professional environment that felt equally welcoming to clients, staff, and the office’s beloved four-legged companions. Set within a historic home, the existing space already had an abundance of character. Our goal was to honor that history while giving the interiors a fresh, thoughtful update that better reflected the vibrant team who works there every day. We began by refreshing the foundation of the space with a new paint palette and decorative lighting. Updated fixtures brought a more current point of view while still feeling at home within the historic architecture. On the stairs, a neutral runner added softness underfoot, providing comfort and durability for both the staff and office dogs.
In the foyer, we introduced subtle touches of the practice’s branding through color and pattern. A one-of-a-kind Oushak rug, layered in warm neutrals with beautiful blue accents, became a natural focal point and connected effortlessly with the reception desk, refreshed in Sherwin-Williams Indigo Batik. New lighting carried the balance of old and new throughout the foyer and into the conference room. Pattern and color continued into the main client spaces through new drapery featuring fresh interpretations of classic florals in greens, blues, and soft neutrals. In the sitting room, a few new furnishings paired with thoughtfully reupholstered existing pieces—including the camelback sofa—created a collected look that felt appropriate to the home's history without feeling dated. A new conference table, seating, and occasional tables continued that approach, combining traditional character with durable finishes and performance fabrics suited to the demands of a busy practice. Even the powder room received its moment. A new valance, updated storage, decorative lighting, and a simple refresh of the existing vanity gave the small space new personality while making the most of what was already there.
