A Color Story

Vibrant, Global, Generational

Wilmington, North Carolina

These clients came to us with dreams of a contemporary waterfront home that would showcase their many generational furniture pieces and treasures found throughout their worldly travels—all harmoniously blending with their bold and vibrant color palette: hues of hot pink, cobalt blue, turquoise, and white. Architectural elements can be found flowing in and out of the home—connecting its interior with its stunning exterior, both structurally and within the landscape. The garden landscape reflects the geometric nature of the home, with concrete slabs artistically lain across the entrance of the home, as well as the back yard. From the back lawn, your eyes are immediately drawn to the turquoise spiral staircase, setting the tone for the vibrancy of the home’s interior.

Coral stone was used in the exterior of home and can be found as an interior dividing wall, creating a dramatic statement in the formal living and dining spaces. This material was chosen as a client favorite from their travels in Palm Beach to the Dominican Republic, where it was then sourced for their home. Other artifacts and materials were brought back with them from their travels to Morocco, Asia, and the Caribbean, all offering global expressions that became the ultimate language of the home. After gathering all of the clients’ family furnishings and beloved materials, our team worked with the client to curate bold wallpapers, playful fabrics, one-of-a-kind tiles, and statement lighting into a beautiful color story that brought it all to life in a cohesive design scheme. With so many found materials, we made sure to look for every opportunity in the home to create those unexpected moments the client wished for. From creative tile patterns and placements, lively color combinations, bold wallpapers in nooks of the home, and vibrant pops of color found in unexpected places; our team helped cultivate a cohesive reflection of their personalities—a unique and rich home to enjoy and share with generations to come.
