Inviting, fresh, unforgettable

Old Home, New Soul

Wilmington, NC

In the heart of Wilmington's historic district, this young couple's relocation journey unfolded with a unique challenge – to infuse life into their empty home by April's Azalea Festival Historic Home Tour. Eager to honor the architectural charm, we accentuated original details like the anaglypta wallpaper, transformed with a moody blue hue. Maintaining the essence of the old, we turned the original coal-burning fireplaces into bold, high-gloss black accents unique to each room. Inspired by the couple's bourbon collection, we incorporated a rich butterscotch leather in the library's wingback chairs, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Given their remote work lifestyle, we crafted distinct office sanctuaries. His space exudes masculinity with a wet bar and distressed leather swivel chairs, while hers, a haven of femininity, basks in natural light from full-length windows. Every room boasts modernized touches through new fixtures, offering an inviting blend of textures and serene palettes. The former dining room, now a lounge, provides a cozy retreat for wine enthusiasts. With each accessory purposefully chosen, we transformed this historic space into a turnkey haven just in time for the grand reveal during the Historic Home Tour to over 1,000 guests.

Infusing warmth and character, the rich hues of their bourbon collection inspired the bold butterscotch leather wingback armchairs in the library.
